Good vision should never be a luxury. With this belief, Eyemate launched Nepal’s first-ever Eyeglass Bank — a meaningful initiative to help people in need see the world more clearly.
The Eyeglass Bank is a community-driven program where gently used spectacles are collected, checked, refurbished, and redistributed to people who cannot afford proper vision care. Many individuals in rural and underserved areas suffer from poor vision simply because they lack access to basic eyeglasses.
Through this initiative, Eyemate aims to bridge that gap and ensure that clear vision becomes accessible to everyone, regardless of financial status.
Over the past two years, the Eyeglass Bank has made a meaningful impact through community eye camps.
👓 Conducted 2 major eye camps
📍 Served communities in Lamjung and Achham
❤️ Distributed donated spectacles to people in need after proper eye examinations
For many recipients, receiving a pair of glasses meant:
Returning to work with confidence
Children being able to read and study again
Elderly individuals regaining independence
Uncorrected refractive errors remain one of the leading causes of avoidable visual impairment. A simple pair of glasses can instantly restore vision and improve quality of life, yet many people still cannot afford them.
Eyemate’s Eyeglass Bank:
Reduces preventable visual impairment
Promotes reuse and sustainability
Encourages community participation in eye care
This initiative grows stronger with community support. You can help by:
Donating unused or gently used eyeglasses
Supporting our outreach eye camps
Spreading awareness about the Eyeglass Bank
Together, we can ensure that no one suffers from poor vision simply due to lack of access to glasses.
Eyemate remains committed to expanding the Eyeglass Bank program to more remote areas across Nepal. With continued support, we hope to reach thousands more people and bring the gift of clear sight to every community.
👉 Keep supporting Eyemate’s Eyeglass Bank — because clear vision changes lives.
